The Graduate Fashion Show and Exhibition 2012 of London College for Fashion Studies – Hanoi took place in Hanoi with the aim of introducing 13 collections of graduates. The show was organized professionally and brought a new trend to Vietnam’s fashion.
The collections originated from the inspiration from Vietnamese cultural heritages, Japanese traditional cultures, feelings of Russia and Buddhism. All were performed harmoniously with a space of sounds and lights, leaving a long-lasting impression on audiences.
The collection entitled “Tinh” (Still) by Vu Tanh Linh initiated from the image of lotus. All the designs were made from different materials like wool, felt, velvet, hemp, leather, silk and brocade that look simple, refined and modern, suitable for women with strong character.

Young designer Vu Van Quynh brought the “Ky Uc Ao” (Virtual Memory) collection that is sought after by women who like creativeness and a unique style. Nguyen Van Hoan’s “Luong Hang” collection reflected the exchange of Asian and Western cultures. Six dresses for gala evenings and parties in the “Bach Duong” (Aries) collection by Dinh Thi Thuy were made from velvet and silk and decorated with patterns of leaves, flowers and birds that showed the beauty of nature. Doan Phuong Thao’s collection with modern and traditional Ao dai designs helped highlight the beauty of modern women today.

The “Love from Russia” collection by Nguyen Hoai Anh was made from the image of Matrioska, a traditional doll of Russian and the architecture of domes. These designs made from the materials of feather, felt and cotton helped the wearers look smart and elegant. Trinh Thi Dai Trang’s “Punk” collection was made from leather, cotton and tussore, showing inner strength and freedom.
The collection by Tran Thi Tra was a harmonious combination of unique colours, such as blue, pink, saffron and purple and neutral colours of grey, black and white. The “Iconic 70s” collection by Vu Thi Ngoc Tram consisted of simple designs that were decorated with patterns at the upper hem, bag and cuffs of trousers. Inspired from the beauty of A-shaped skirts, Hoang Thuy Dung created a collection of modern and refined designs.
Nguyen Tan Hai Nam, with his inspiration from Japan of the past, created designs with three colours of white, cream and black from khaki and linen that impressed the viewers. Do Thanh Xuan with his collection, “Moc”, was made from natural materials, showing the Eco-fashion trend and Nguyen Tra My’s collection was designed from the images of jelly-fish”.
