For the first time, Vietnamese people had an opportunity to meet with Nick Vujicic, an Australian man without arms and legs who has become a symbol of vitality. He has inspired millions of people around the world to have the confidence and desire to live.
Nick Vujicic was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterised by the absence of all four limbs. Throughout his childhood he not only faced challenges at school but also had to practice essential skills to live.
At high school he was elected as a representative of the students at MacGregor State School in Queensland. He had opportunities to work with the student council at the local events to raise charity funds and campaigns for disabled people. At the age of 17, a great turning point came to him when he was invited to talk about his endeavours. His talks were very interesting, and had a great impact on the audience. Then he had more speaking engagements and founded his non-profit organization, Life Without Limbs, which he still runs today.
At 21, Nick Vujicic graduated from university and had two BA degrees in accounting and financial planning from Griffith University in Logan, Australia. But life has made him an inspirational speaker and he has chosen this path to help other people with the same plight. So far, he has made over 1,600 speeches and talked before more than three million people in 24 countries on five continents.
