Spanish film festival kicks off in Hue city

A Spanish film week was opened in Hue city, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, on November 22.

The event until November 26 features five outstanding works of the contemporary film industry of Spain, namely “Flamenco, Flamenco”, “Felices 140” (Happy 140), “María y los demás” (Maria and the others), “Requisitos para ser una persona normal” (Requirements to be a normal person), and “Un día vi 10.000 elefantes” (One day I saw 10,000 elephants).

Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam Maria Jesus Figa said the films were produced in recent years and have won many Spanish and international awards.

Through these works, the audience can gain an insight into not only the life, culture and people of Spain, but also the developed film industry of her country, the diplomat noted.

The festival, organised by the Spanish Embassy in Vietnam and the Thua Thien-Hue provincial Department of Culture and Sports, is open for the public free of charge./
