Shoes & Leather Vietnam expos features 700 exhibitors

Over 700 leather and shoe exhibitors from Vietnam and 26 countries and territories worldwide will be displaying their products at two exhibitions on leather, footwear, and the sewing machine industry, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 11.

The three-day “Shoes & Leather Vietnam 2018” event, which goes along with the 20th International Shoes and Leather Exhibition as well as an international sewing machine industry exhibition, is jointly organised by the Vietnam Leather, Footwear, and Handbag Association (LEFASO), international exhibition organiser Top Repute Co., Ltd., and the Ho Chi Minh City Leather and Footwear Association.

It will put on display various chemicals, shoe-making and tanning machinery and technologies, leather and other materials, shoe components and accessories, finished products, and more.

In particular, the 20th International Shoes and Leather Exhibition will be introducing trendy and fashionable footwear and leather products and accessories.

Several seminars on the latest technologies and fashion trends in the shoe and leather industries will be held on the sidelines of the expos.

According to the organisers, Shoes & Leather Vietnam was first held in 1999, going on to affirm its position as a prestigious forum for leading leather and footwear producers and suppliers in Vietnam and other countries around the world.

Paolo Lemma, chief representative of the Italian Trade Commission in Vietnam, said almost all companies participating in Shoes & Leather Vietnam have distributors, agents, or representative offices in Vietnam.

These firms are also looking for opportunities to expand their markets in Vietnam and promote cooperation with Vietnamese peers and new potential partners.

Italian firms hope to expand their market in complete production machinery and chemicals used for treating leather and other footwear material, he said.

Vietnam has become the third footwear producer and the second footwear exporter in the world thanks to huge internal and external investments, as well as the tireless efforts made by local footwear firms.
