Russian communists hail success of Vietnam’s Party Congress

Moscow , January 28 (VNA) – Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennady Zyuganov has lauded the success of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).

He told reporters from Vietnam News Agency that the Russian communists have paid a great deal of attention to the CPV’s Congress. They expressed their hopes that the CPV will continue having more successes in socio-economic development, he added.
Zyuganov said that the CPV’s policies of modernisation and renovation have helped the country achieve a high economic growth rate, while absorbing modern technologies.
He expressed his hope that Vietnam will gain an elevated position in the global economic arena.

Vietnam is a strategic partner and a friend of the Russian Federation , he said, adding that the KPRF will make its utmost efforts to boost the Russia-Vietnam strategic partnership.
The 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam concluded with success on January 28 after eight days of working.

The Congress elected a 200-member Party Central Committee, including 180 official and 20 alternate ones.

The Party General Secretary in the 11th tenure, Nguyen Phu Trong was re-elected with unanimity as General Secretary in the 12th tenure.
