Phu Quoc, one of the best places to visit this fall: CNN

Phu Quoc island in Kien Giang province has been selected by CNN Travel as one of the five Asia-Pacific destinations to visit this fall.

The island is described as a beach gateway in Asia with photogenic setting and clear waters.

Bai Sao on the east side of Phu Quoc is among the best beaches in Vietnam with crystal clear water
and year-round calm sea.

Phu Quoc, which is about one hour from Ho Chi Minh City, offers a 30-day visa exemption policy for all foreign passports. For starters, the dry season begins in November and runs till April.

According to CNN, there’s plenty to do aside from lounging and snorkeling around Ong Lang Beach. The Phu Quoc Prison museum offers a peek into the island's history while the Phu Quoc National Park and Suoi Tranh Waterfall will spoil nature lovers.

As for the food, CNN recommends visitors to try fish sauce - a famous specialty of Phu Quoc and a main ingredient of most Vietnamese dishes.

The other four destinations recommended by CNN are Chengdu, China; Fukuoka, Japan; Jeju, South Korea; and Perth, Australia.
