A photo exhibition featuring works on Vietnam by Spanish photographers opened on February 11 in Madrid, Spain.

Held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Spain and Camilo Jose Cela University, the exhibition “Goc nhin ve Viet Nam” (Overviews of Vietnam) is part of activities to mark the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

On display are some 50 photos by Jorge Mendoza Ismer and Carlos Vaquerin Moares, which were taken during their trip to Vietnam in March last year. The photos highlight beautiful landscapes and daily activities in Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta localities, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Hanoi and Sapa.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Ngo Tien Dung said the event aims to promote Vietnam to Spanish people, affirming that it contributes to tightening diplomatic and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Through the exhibition, the fund of Camilo Jose Cela University hopes to work with Vietnamese non-governmental organisations to implement several charitable projects in Vietnam, and receive more Vietnamese students to study in the school.

Dung called on more Spanish people to visit Vietnam and enjoy the country’s beauty with their own eyes.

The exhibition will last until February 15.
