Noise pollution at alarming rate

Noise pollution is becoming an acute problem in Vietnam’s cities. Countries worldwide have imposed strict regulations to reduce noise pollution, but in Vietnam, the situation has not been taken seriously enough.

There are dozens of swallow farms in the area near Dinh market, Nhon Binh ward, Quy Nhon city in the south central province of Binh Dinh. The bird noise and loudspeakers for calling birds sound from dawn till dusk. Some farms sit right next to schools. Swallow farming is becoming an urgent matter in the locality. Still, more farms are popping up in residential areas.

Noise pollution is becoming more and more acute in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Urban residents are tired of living with traffic, restaurant and loudspeaker noise everywhere all day long.
