Hanoi, February 3 (VNA) – Heads of State and Party leaders from around the world on February 3 cabled congratulatory messages to Nguyen Phu Trong, who was re-elected General Secretary of the 12 th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Congratulations were offered by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister and Chairman of the leading political party United Russia Dmitry Medvede, President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye, and National Secretary of the French Communist Party Pierre Laurent.
Vietnamese Honorary Consul to Belgium Baron de Grand Ry together with President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarian Alliance Toshihiro Nikai; and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Japan External Trade Organisation Hiroyuki Ishige also extended their congratulations to the Vietnamese Party chief.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was re-elected at the 12th National Party Congress, which took place in Hanoi on January 20-28.
