The Republic of Korea’s Jeju Air announced it would open some new routes to several Southeast Asian destinations, including Vietnam’s central city of Da Nang, between December 2017 and February 2018.

In order to meet increasing travel demand during this winter, the airline will also launch flights from the Jeju International Airport to Manila of the Philippines and Chiang Mai of Thailand during the period, it said.

The carrier added that it plans to open more flights from the Cheongju International Airport to Bangkok (Thailand), Taiwan (China) and Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) from January 4 to February 25, 2018.

According to a Jeju Air representative, the airline aims to increase its fleet from the current 31 to 39 by the end of next year. It will hire more 189-seat Boeing 737-800 planes to improve the quality of flights from Jeju Island to Southeast Asian countries.
