The offer is made for the first time by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center (HMCC) to celebrate the Women’s Day on March 8 and encourage women to wear the Vietnamese traditional dress.

HMCC Director Phan Thanh Hai hoped the image of women wearing ao dai would create a tourism highlight for the former imperial city and help spread the love for the elegant dress of Vietnamese women.

Hue city was Vietnam’s capital during the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. Its imperial relic site was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1993. VNP
