HCM City to install environmental violation cameras

The city has recommended that district people’s committees place the cameras in areas where environmental violations occur most frequently, such as schools and hospitals and on streets.

The chairperson of the district people’s committees is also expected to be responsible for overseeing public hygiene in their districts, according to the city’s People’s Committee.

Le Van Khoa, deputy chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, has directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to work with the district people’s committees to open more public restrooms and rubbish bins to meet demand.

The municipal People’s Committee also asked the police to work with district people’s committees to set up hotlines to receive reports from residents about environmental violations.
