HCM City hosts week of Argentine cuisine and films

A week of Argentine cuisine and films is taking place in Ho Chi Minh City from December 3-9 to celebrate the 45th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Argentina.

The event will promote the image and culture of Argentina to Vietnamese people.

A film programme will be held on December 3 and 4 at the International Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF), 31 Thai Van Lung street, district 1. All films will have English subtitles. Free tickets can be collected at the Argentine Embassy and the IDECAF.

Wild Tales, directed by Damian Szifron, is a black comedy consisting of six stories on the wild instincts and violence of humanity.

Action movie Brave Time, directed by Gabriel Nesci, tells of psychologist Mariano Silverstein and detective Alfredo Díaz who investigate a mysterious disappearance.

Younger audience members will also be entertained with some animated films. Underdogs, directed by Juan Jose Campanella, tells the story of true friendship and love.

Comedy My First Wedding, directed by Ariel Winograd, is a story about Jewish Adrian and Catholic Leonora who have finally reached their wedding day. Instead of gracefully embracing matrimony, Adrian spends the hours leading up to the ceremony trying to postpone it, because he clumsily lost both his and his bride-to-be’s sacred wedding rings.

The event continues with cuisine at Chit Chat Restaurant, Equatorial Hotel, 242 Tran Binh Trong street. Chef Alberto Curia will present Argentine cuisine with sparkling wine and tango in the evening.
