Hanoi improves value of agro-forestry-fishery supply chain from 2021-2025

The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) led by Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam and leaders of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on June 1 visited Van Duc cooperative and high-tech agricultural chain Hano Farm (An Hoa Investment Joint Stock Company). The event is part of the cooperation program between MARD and the Hanoi People's Committee to ensure food safety and improve the quality and value of the agricultural, forestry and fishery supply chain between Hanoi and other provinces and cities in the country from 2021-2025.

Van Duc cooperative is currently the largest safe vegetable area in Hanoi. It is selected by MARD as a standard model of supply chain management from production to consumption throughout the country. Eight kinds of clean vegetable products from Van Duc cooperative achieved a 4-star OCOP rating. The vegetable products have also been exported to Taiwan (China) and South Korea for many years.

From 2015-2020, MARD coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee and 21 localities across the country to implement a program to develop safe vegetable and meat supply chains in Hanoi. Some 786 safe food supply chains have been created. However, many quality and safe products did not reach distribution centers or consumers in the capital and the whole country.

In order to promote the achievements, take advantage of the opportunities and overcome the challenges caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, MARD and the Hanoi People's Committee agreed to implement the joint program "Ensure food safety, improve the quality and value of the supply chain of agriculture, forestry and fishery products between Hanoi and other provinces and cities in the country from 2021-2025”.
