The Giant Buddha is of great significance to the Truc Lam Thien Truong Buddhist Pagoda, inaugurated on the same day.

The pagoda was built on an area of 4,840 square metres, at a cost of 49 billion VND(2.3 million USD), with the majority of 41 billion VND (1.9 million USD) raised by Buddhists from all over Vietnam.
