Food safety inspection in the supply chain and livestock production in Thanh Oai and Chuong My

The delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) led by Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam, including Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen and leaders of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on June 9 visited two outskirt districts of Thanh Oai and Chuong My to inspect the supply chain and livestock production.

At the Hoang Long cooperative in Thanh Oai district, all procedures of raising clean pigs and processing bio-pork are implemented very strictly to ensure food safety.

The cooperative uses a breeding process following VietGap standards and applies biosafety husbandry measures of national technical regulations. Hoang Long cooperative runs a processing plant applying Danish technology with a capacity of 50 pigs / hour. On average, the cooperative supplies about two tons of bio pork and 0.5 tons of pork products per day to the market.

The delegation also visited poultry farms of the Tien Vien joint-stock company in Chuong My district. The company oversees products of more than 30 poultry farms in the district. Standardizing all processes in the closed-chain production ensure the quality and food safety of the product.

Within the infrastructure of the processing area, the company packs about 200,000 eggs per day.
Monthly, Tien Vien company supplies to the market over 2 million eggs and two tons of chicken meat. Meeting the requirements of food safety with a traceability label, its products are sold in many supermarkets in Hanoi.

The delegation evaluated the two companies’ efforts in developing the supply chain of safety food for Hanoi from 2015-2020.
