Festival to honour traditional values of Vietnamese family

An array of cultural activities will be held in the framework of the Vietnam Family Festival on June 22 to mark the National Family Day (June 28), according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Various aspects and traditional values of Vietnamese families will be highlighted at an exhibition themed “Family-love fulcrum”.

Activities of the Vietnam Women’s Union in mobilising and supporting women to build happy families and promote the role of family in child education will be introduced at the exhibition.

Meanwhile, the “Vietnamese Equal Family” photo exhibition will showcase 20 excellent photos selected from a contest held by the Embassy of Sweden in Vietnam in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The photos encourage the equal sharing of family-related duties among family members.

Standout traditional products made by 19 families from 15 traditional craft villages in Hanoi city and Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh and Cao Bang provinces will be on display as well. It aims to honour traditional cultural values, industriousness and creativeness in the craft families.

In addition, “Family with reading culture” corner will encourage reading culture in families while promoting strong bonds between parents and children.

The festival will run until June 24 at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts.
