Dong Nhi was named Singer of the Year at the Cong Hien (Devotion) Music Awards organised by The Thao & Van Hoa (Sports and Culture) newspaper of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on April 16 night.

Last year, Nhi organised Ten on Ten, her biggest-ever show, in HCM City to celebrate her 10-year singing career.

Her first album The First Step was named one of the Top 10 Albums of the Year in 2010 at the Zing Music Awards.

The 32-year-old has released four albums and several singles, many of them hits, and has appeared in reality music shows as a competitor and mentor.

Nhi won the Best Asian Artist title at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) in 2015, and Best Southeast Asian Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2016.

Young singer-songwriter Vu Cat Tuong won the Musician of the Year Award.

Tuong’s latest album Stardom features 10 songs reflecting different aspects of daily life.

The 27-year-old was also named New Artist of the Year at the Devotion Music Awards in 2015 with her debut album Giai Ma (Decryption).

Album of the Year was awarded to veteran singer My Linh's Chat with Mozart 2, which features classical melodies by Mozart, Bach, Liszt and others with Vietnamese lyrics written by veteran musician Duong Thu.

Linh also received the award for Chat with Mozart in 2006.

See Sing Share produced by singer Ha Anh Tuan won Show of the Year and Music Series of the Year.

The show was first broadcast on YouTube in October 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his career.

The show has been running over the last three years with a total of 30 music videos introducing popular Vietnamese songs in an acoustic style.

The annual Devotion Music Awards began in 2004 to promote Vietnamese music and honour artists who have made significant contributions to the industry.
