Designs chosen for APEC Year 2017 postage stamps

Hanoi, August 17 (VNA) – The lotus flower and Ngu Hanh Son Mountain in the central city of Da Nang have been chosen as designs for postage stamps celebrating the APEC Year 2017 in Vietnam.

The decision was made at a meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Information and Telecommunication Nguyen Thanh Hung in Hanoi on August 16.

The lotus flower represents the culture and the characteristics of Vietnamese people and symbolises the strength, will and belief of the nation.

Meanwhile, the Ngu Hanh Son Mountain (Marble Mountains) is a famous destination of Da Nang city, where the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2017 will be held this November.

The designs were the work of two painters To Minh Trang and Pham Quang Dieu.

The APEC logo will also be printed on the stamps.

The Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will soon complete the stamp designs and submit to the postage stamp approval council.
