Cherry blossom festival makes Vietnam record

The Vietnam Record Association and the Vietnam Records Organisation (VietKings) granted a record certificate to the Advanced International JSC (AIC) in recognition of the company’s Japanese cherry blossom festival in Hanoi on April 23.

The annual event aims to promote cultural exchanges, friendship and mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Japanese people.

After four years of successful organisation, the festival has become a venue for local people and tourists to admire thousands of cherry blossom trees and branches transported from Japan to Vietnam.

Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vu Tien Loc said the festival symbolises Japanese culture and described it as a cultural ambassador of Japan.

It also helps promote investment between the two countries, he said, adding that many cooperation contracts, projects and programmes between Vietnamese and Japanese localities have been signed during the festival.

AIC Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan said the company is honoured to receive the Vietnam Records certificate and this will be a great source of motivation to continue implementing collaboration programmes between Vietnam and Japan.

The Japanese cherry blossom festival, which took place in Hanoi from March 29 to April 2, attracted more than one million visitors.

Nearly 30,000 cherry blossom trees and branches along with local flowers were displayed at the event.

The festival also featured Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine and traditional art programmes, and a conference on tourism investment.
