Hanoi, May 26 (VNA) – A visiting delegation from the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia’s Motherland led by its Vice Chairman and Acting General Secretary Nhem Valy, has met with officials from the Hanoi Party Committee.

During the meeting on May 25, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Dao Duc Toan called for a greater contribution from the front to developing relations between the two countries, and supporting Vietnamese expatriates living in Cambodia.

He affirmed that the delegation’s visit is part of activities to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties (June 26, 1967-2017).

For his part, Nhem Valy expressed deep gratitude to Vietnamese soldiers’ sacrifices, as well as the support from the Vietnamese State and people for his country’s national defence and construction.

The front will make efforts to tighten the two nations and capitals, he stressed.

The same day, representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter met with the Cambodian delegation, during which they shared experience related to front works, especially how to uphold the role of fronts in promoting national unity, patriotic movements, and in Party building.
