Book exhibition marks 50 years of President Ho Chi Minh’s testament

A book exhibition marking the 50-year implementation of President Ho Chi Minh’s testament was opened at the Academy of Politics Region II in Ho Chi Minh City on April 21.

The event features 923 books, including those penned by the President along with books and articles on his life, career, ideology and testament written by other authors.

Deputy Director of the academy Phan Cong Khanh said the exhibition is meant to celebrate the 50-year implementation of the late leader’s testament, thereby helping to affirm and uphold the values of his ideology in the current life.

He added it is also an activity in response to the Vietnam Book Day (April 21) to help promote the reading habit in the community.

President Ho Chi Minh began writing his will in May 1965 and finished it in May 1969 – four months before he passed away. This special historic document has become a guideline for Vietnam’s revolution and development for both at that time and in the future.
