Nanning, May 15 (VNA) - The 13th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Inter-Sessional Meeting on Counter- Terrorism and Transnational Crime was convened in Nanning, the capital of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on May 14-15.

Representatives from 17 ARF member countries, the ASEAN Secretariat and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime at the event exchanged views on anti-terrorism, drug control, hunting fugitive suspects, combating cyber crime and border management.

They discussed the draft of a 2015-2016 working plan to crack down on terrorism and cross-border crimes.

They also asserted practical cooperative achievements in security law enforcement in Asia and stressed countries in the region should attach importance to security cooperation and bring regional cooperation to a new level.

The ARF, founded in 1994, is a key regional forum for security dialogues in Asia. It is composed of 27 countries including the 10 ASEAN member states and their dialogue partners.

After more than 20 years of development, the ARF has become the Asia-Pacific region's most inclusive and influential security dialogue and cooperation mechanism.

China’s Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Foreign Affairs presided over the meeting, which was co- chaired by Thailand.
