Ambassador helps bridge Vietnamese, Czech localities

Prague, October 1 (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuan made a tour of the Moravian-Silesian Region on September 29-30 to seek locality-to-locality cooperation opportunities.

At a meeting with Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region Ivo Vondrak, he listed priority cooperation areas between the two countries as well as their localities like tourism, education and labour.

Tuan said the two countries should push for the signing of an agreement on education cooperation to facilitate the exchange of students.

For his part, Ivo Vondrak highly valued traditional cooperation between the Moravian-Silesian Region and Vietnam and briefed his guest on the region’s strength such as education, mining and auto manufacturing.

On this occasion, Tuan met with representatives of the Vietnamese Association in the Moravian-Silesian Region and its capital city of Ostrava, and Vietnamese businesses.  He also joined the mid-autumn festival of Vietnamese children in the locality.

About 800 Vietnamese are living in the Moravian-Silesian Region with one third of them holding the Czech nationality.
