1,000 foreign athletes register for VPBank Hanoi Marathon

Up to 1,000 international athletes have registered to compete in the VPBank Hanoi Marathon (VHM) to be held in the capital city on October 20, organisers said.

Participants will run around the Old Quarter and six central districts of Hanoi through various heritage sites in 10km, 21km and 42km races.

To prepare for the event, the organisers held a pilot run over 21km.

After a test, runners received distant running training from Chinese expert Tang Tao.
