Up Café

“Up Café” with an “upside down” space, located in a small alley on Nguyen Trong Tuyen Street, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City, is a quiet place to relax in a bustling city.

From outside, the shape of an upside-down wooden house and an upside-down door draws the attention of customers. Inside, all the furniture and decorations, such as a piano, door-cases, ceiling lights, tables, chairs and classic paintings, have been set upside-down in the cozy space, full of golden light and immortal melodies. The special space surprises customers, especially those who come to Up Café for the first time. Vietnam Pictorial presents some images about this unique café to readers.

The HMong Celebrate Tet Doc Lap

The H’Mong Celebrate Tet Doc Lap

Dating back to September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the Declaration of Independence and founded the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the H’Mong community in Tay Bac (Vietnam’s northwest) celebrates Tet Doc Lap (Independence Festival) as a deeply meaningful tradition. The festival embodies gratitude to the Party and the State, while also serving as a time for family reunions, cultural exchange, and the preservation of age-old traditions.
