Vinh Hy Bay in Vinh Hy Village, Vinh Hai Commune, Ninh Hai District, 40km from Phan Rang City (Ninh Thuan Province), is considered one of Vietnam’s four most beautiful bays and the best spot for eco-tourism in the southern central region.
The Bay has preserved its natural beauty with white sandbanks circling steep rocky-mountains with streams babbling through extensive green forests. Thanks to its many mountains and caves, the bay is very calm, with clear blue water, and in some places, tourists can see the bay’s floor.

From Phan Rang, tourists can take a boat for an excursion on the bay where they can see many islands and rocks with their fascinating shapes. They can swim in the placid, clear water, go fishing with local people or dive to explore the coral reefs. Sometimes, tourists see schools of anchovy swimming around the boat. Tourists can visit Vinh Hy Fishing Village to learn about the life of the local people who have continued the traditional craft of making fish sauce and steaming fish or join in their daily activities. Tourists can participate in sporting activities, such as climbing the mountain, discovering caves, camping or fishing.
To attract tourists to Vinh Hy Bay, many kinds of sea activities have been developed. Tourists are very interested in taking a glass-bottom boat to catch a glimpse of the coral reef and varieties of fish at the bottom of the sea. In the Vinh Hy Sea Conservation Area, there are 307 varieties of precious and rare coral, including 50 varieties recently discovered in Vietnam.
Annually in January or February of the lunar calendar, mackerel and tuna often swim in the bay. It is the best time of the year for fishermen to catch fish. Visiting the bay at this time, tourists have a chance to go to out with the local people to catch fish and enjoy grilled fish right on the boat.
Any visitor to Vinh Hy Bay will be impressed with its beautiful landscape and unique tourism products.
