Duc Tran’s meditation music wind chimes

Tran Ngoc Hong Duc or Duc Tran is the first to make meditation music wind chimes in Vietnam under the brand name Dofrance. Duc Tran is hoping to turn Dofrance into a world leading brand of meditation music wind chimes.
On his trip to Vung Tau in 2012, Duc Tran visited Chon Khong Meditation Monastery where he heard the melodious sounds of large windchimes hung in the Monastery’s sanctum.

“The wind chimes swaying in the wind created beautiful sounds just like sweet bird melodies, which made me feel relaxed and cheerful at the same time,” Du Tran recalled. When he looked closer at the chimes, Duc Tran found that they were made in the US, meaning he could not afford them.

Returning to Saigon, Duc Tran was “haunted” by the sounds which were the most beautiful he had ever heard.

All the important stages in making meditation music wind chimes are done by hand.

Duc Tran’s workshops produce various types of wind chimes with distinctive sounds and sizes.

Duc Tran started searching for information about meditation music wind chimes, but he could not find a single producer in Vietnam.

“Why don’t I become the first person in Vietnam to make meditation wind chimes?" This was how Duc Tran started his wind chime business and how Dofrance was born.

Aluminum, wood and traditional conical hats are the materials Duc Tran chooses to use to create his wind chimes.

Duc Tran is confident that Dofrance can compete with foreign brands because he has developed a distinctive formula to create sounds for his wind chimes, instead of disassembling a ready-made foreign product and imitating the way of making it.

According to Duc Tran, the nature of wind is casual because no wind resembles another. “My job is making use of this property of wind to create music, not parasitic noise, for the wind chimes. The gap between an ordinary wind chime and a music wind chime is wide,” he said.

Duc Tran gives beautiful names to his wind chimes, including Vega, Jupiter, and the Great Water.

According to Duc Tran, meditation music wind chimes are good for one’s health.

After countless efforts, Duc Tran successfully created wind chimes which produce the perfect music. Such music is a combination of musical notes in the frequency of 432 Hz arranged orderly into a chord, and thus helps adjust human frequency when the chimes’ sound is transmitted. It is just like each person has his/her own menu of music for relaxation when he/she is happy, sad or excited.

According to Duc Tran, meditation music wind chimes are good for one’s health because the sounds help support us in meditation and relaxation. “When we hear beautiful music and feel good, that’s enough,” he said.

Duc Tran is planning to build a therapy center which does not use drugs, but instead uses music, herbs, yoga, qigong, meditation, massage, acupuncture, acupressure and a macrobiotic diet.  Dofrance wind chimes are the first element of this plan.
