Candy maker brings Ben Tre to the world

Vinh Tien company in Ben Tre, which is called the land of coconuts, has successfully introduced coconut candies in overseas markets.
Vinh Tien Director Dang Thi Truc Lan Chi, a Ben Tre native has, for a long time, desired to introduce her homeland’s specialty to the world.

“I have had a dream of making coconut candies known to the world since I was a little girl,” Chi said.

In 2000, Chi set up Vinh Tien to produce coconut candies and only three years later, Vinh Tien products made their way to foreign markets.

The company now exports most of its annual output of 1,300 tons of coconut candies to Laos, Cambodia, China, Australia and the US.

Vinh Tien’s coconut-based products branded Yen Hoang and Tien Dat have now secured a firm foothold in the domestic and foreign markets.

Chi attributed her company’s success to its efforts to constantly improve product quality and diversify products and designs to meet the different tastes of local and foreign customers.

Vinh Tien does not use any chemicals in any production process and applies strict checks to ensure healthy products for consumers.

It has applied a clean production process under a Vietnam-Denmark cooperation program. In 2009, the company was granted the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s certificate of clean production, an important pass for Vinh Tien to enter foreign markets.
