Bamboo Airways – the newest Vietnamese airline – launched an air route linking Ho Chi Minh City with the central province of Thanh Hoa on January 29, with the frequency of one flight per day.

Dang Tat Thang, Bamboo Airways CEO, said Thanh Hoa is an important destination in the aviation – tourism development strategy of Bamboo Airways and property developer FLC Group.

The launch of the route shows the airline’s determination to contribute to the locality’s tourism, he added.

Bamboo Airways is part of the Viet Bamboo Airlines Company based in Quy Nhon city of Binh Dinh province. Viet Bamboo Airlines Company, owned by property developer FLC Group, was established in 2017 with charter capital of 700 billion VND (30.2 million USD).

FLC has positioned Bamboo Airways as a hybrid airline, blending low-cost traits with those of traditional or full-service carriers to meet the demands of every market segment.

Along with the new route, Bamboo Airways is operating others linking Hanoi with Quy Nhon, Nha Trang city of central Khanh Hoa province, Dong Hoi city of central Quang Binh province, Ho Chi Minh City, Buon Me Thuot city of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, and Phu Quoc island in the southern province of Kien Giang, and between Ho Chi Minh City and Quy Nhon and Van Don district in northern Quang Ninh province, thus serving passengers during the lunar New Year festival.

The carrier will operate 37 routes connecting major cities and tourist destinations at home and abroad in 2019, with up to 60 domestic flights per day.
