Promptly Dealing With the Consequences of the Bridge Collapse in Lai Chau

Regarding the suspension bridge collapse in the northeastern mountain province of Lai Chau on February 24 leaving eight dead and at least 38 others injured, on February 25 Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent an official message to the People’s Committee of Lai Chau Province and the Ministry of Transport.
In the message, the PM asked the provincial authority to send condolences and support to the families of those who died and were injured in the accident. He also called on the Ministry of Transport to inspect the quality of all suspension bridges nationwide, especially in mountainous areas to prevent similar incidents.

On the same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung instructed the Ministry of Defence to dispatch two helicopters carrying surgeons from Hanoi-based Viet Duc and Bach Mai hospitals to Lai Chau to assist with the treatment of victims of the accident.

After the suspension bridge collapsed, the victims were promptly treated. On February 24, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang and leaders of the province visited the injured people at the province’s hospital.

The Le Dynasty Weapons Collection

The Giang Vo Military School and Le Dynasty Weapons Collection exhibition has recently been opened at the Hanoi Museum. The event, featuring over 200 artifacts and documents, provided an opportunity for both domestic and international visitors to admire the ancient martial arts training ground, the Giang Vo Military School, the first national martial arts academy in the ancient Thang Long citadel, along with a national treasure collection of weapons from the Le Dynasty.
