Sandworm harvest at its peak in Hai Duong

Every year, between the 9th and 10th months of the lunar year, farmers in the northern province of Hai Duong drain their fields and go on the hunt for sandworms.

Since late October, people in northern Vietnam begin to look forward to the cuisine “ruoi” – one kind of sandworm which can please the most picky tongue. Among the long list of sandworm dishes, most popular certainly include cha ruoi (or sandworm omelette).

Ruoi season begins from the beginning of September to November. Localities are well known for sandworm include Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and Thai Binh provinces./.
