North, central Vietnam urged to brace for Storm Tokage

Hanoi, November 25 (VNA) - Coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh in the north to Khanh Hoa in the central region have been told to prepare for tropical storm Tokage.

According to the National Centre of Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7am on November 25, the eye of the typhoon was at 11.4 degrees north latitude and 123.5 degrees east longitude, in the Philippines’ central region.

In the next 24 hours, the storm is forecast to move west-northwest at about 15-20km per hour and is gaining in strength.

At 7 am of November 26, its centre is forecast at 12.7 degrees north latitude and 118.7 degrees east longitude, about 500km to the east-northeast of the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.

The steering committee for natural disaster prevention has sent a dispatch tasking relevant agencies of the vulnerable coastal areas with updating locals on the storm movement and strictly monitoring boat activities at sea.
