Hanoi leader extends Christmas greetings to local Catholics

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung on December 24 wished Catholic dignitaries and followers in Thai Ha Parish in Hanoi a merry, happy Christmas.

He informed them about marked socio-economic achievements Hanoi has recorded in 2018, with all 20 targets set for the year fulfilled.

The official attributed these achievements to contributions of people from all walks of life, including Catholics, and stressed that the city will continue with efforts in improving people’s living standards so that there will be poor households in 2019.

Hanoi stands ready to provide material support for the building of a pastoral house in the parish, he promised, asking the dignitaries to regularly discuss with local authorities about bottlenecks hindering the construction.

Priest Trinh Ngoc Hien, head of the parish, expressed his hope that the city will continue to support the parish, and maintain security and order to serve religious activities of local people.
