Mua Caves, the best place to see beautiful Ninh Binh

Mua Caves in Hoa Lu, has recently become a popular place for foreign travelers in Vietnam, surpassing Trang An and Tam Coc to top TripAdvisor’s 2018 list of destinations in Ninh Binh.
Located in Khe Dau Ha village, Ninh Xuan commune, Hoa Lu -the first capital of Vietnam’s feudal state, Mua Caves has won numerous accolades from visitors for its beautiful scenery associated with cultural values of the ancient capital.

The place got its name, Mua (dancing), because it is located on an area home to Thai Vi Temple, which was built in the Tran dynasty as a place for the kings to enjoy dance performances by imperial maidens.


Mua Caves is located in Khe Dau Ha village, Ning Xuan commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province.


To reach the peak of Mua Caves, visitors will climb 486 old mossy rock steps.


The entrance ticket for Mua Caves is 100,000 dong (roughly 4 US dollars).  


Mua Caves is part of the Trang An Landscape Complex, a UNESCO-recognized world heritage. 


Mua Caves is the best place to see the landscapes of Tam Coc and Trang An.

Mua Caves attracts a lot of foreign visitors. 

To reach the peak of Mua Caves, which is regarded as Vietnam’s Great Wall, visitors will climb 486 old mossy rock steps to see the amazing view of Tam Coc (three caves) which is as beautiful as Ma Pi Leng pass in Ha Giang, Lim Mong in Yen Bai, and Mai Chau in Hoa Binh.

Seen from Mua Caves, the whole mountain region in Hoa Lu looks golden at sunset. This view has been captured by the cameras of many visitors who agree that the peak of Mua Caves is the best place in Ninh Binh to take photos.

Roman Ivanov from Russia, who is living in Hanoi, said whenever he is free at weekends, he visits Mua Caves, climbing the mountain as a sport while enjoying the beautiful scenery which can hardly be found elsewhere, particularly in June when all the ripe rice fields turn golden.
