The projects include Tu Lien, Ngoc Hoi, Tran Hung Dao, Thuong Cat, Van Phuc, Hong Ha and Me So bridges. They are among the capital’s major transport infrastructure projects being developed simultaneously as Hanoi works to expand its transport network and accommodate growing travel demand.

Once completed, the seven bridges are expected to significantly improve connectivity between areas on both sides of the Red River, ease traffic pressure on existing bridges and create new links between central Hanoi and surrounding areas.
The projects will also help expand urban development space along the Red River, opening up new opportunities for economic growth and urban expansion. Improved connections are expected to strengthen links between Hanoi and other provinces and cities in the Capital Region, facilitating the movement of people and goods.

The accelerated construction is part of Hanoi’s preparations for APEC 2027, which will bring leaders, officials, business representatives and other participants to the city and Phu Quoc. The new bridges are expected to contribute to a more modern, interconnected transport system and enhance Hanoi’s infrastructure capacity ahead of the major international event.
