Architecture of the Ly Dynasty using VR technology

The architectural heritage of the Ly dynasty (1009–1225) using virtual reality technology was introduced to the public in Hanoi for the first time. This brought opportunities for people to understand and be prouder of the Vietnamese architectural history. This is also a new direction of promoting Vietnamese culture.
At the event of Vietnam Heritage Day, the Hanoi Fine Arts Museum and Sen Heritage group held an exhibition “Discovering the architectural heritage of the One Pillar – Dien Huu Pagoda from the Ly Dynasty through Virtual Reality (VR) technology”. Visitors can admire architectural models of the Dien Huu Monastery Platform and its One Pillar Structure from the Ly Dynasty through 3D paintings, movies, and VR3D products.

Dr. Tran Trong Duong and the SEN Heritage team said, “We are very proud and appreciate the fact that the Vietnamese people can step back in history, walk in ancient spaces and touch thousand year old artifacts using virtual technology. Visitors can admire their ancestors talents reflected in each architectural artwork. Children, students, and pupils can wear 3D glasses to study and play in their cultural heritage”.

The VR3D platform of Dien Huu pagoda and One Pillar is the result of 10 years of research and synthesizing theories of science by SEN Heritage. This is the message that the Vietnamese younger generation wants to deliver: Honoring the Vietnamese identity - Pride in Vietnamese traditions./.
