| As a unit
specializing in the research, application and transfer of new technology
in agricultural production, Hanoi Plant and Seed Company is considered as
a cradle selecting and creating original seeds of plants with high-quality
and disease-free in the service of developing an
eco-agriculture.
Over the years, Hanoi Plant and Seed Company has carried out
many important projects, including building an application centre for the
production of high-quality seeds and plants, building high-tech
agricultural parks, zoning up flora and eco-agricultural gardens, fruits
and vegetables preservation and processing.
The Company’s technology centre
has created many high-quality vegetable varieties after building a room
for cell culture and implant and installing a net-house system. By
applying Invitro (cell technology), scientists are successful in producing
new and high-quality flower varieties, such as chrysanthemum, gerbera,
orchids, etc. In particular, they have selected and preserved many
original seeds of valuable fruits of Hanoi such as Canh orange, Dien
pomelo, Xuan Dinh sapodila...With their help, farmers in the suburban
areas growing vegetables and fruits have successfully shifted the
structure of plants with high economic values.
In 2003, the Centre invested
more than VND 24 billion to implement the High-tech Agricultural Zone
Project. With its greenhouses that cover an area of 8,000 sq. m and are
equipped with a water irrigation and drainage system, and air-conditioners
from Israel, Hanoi Plant and Seed Company annually provides 2.5-2.6
million of vegetable and fruit seeds of high quality, various F1 vegetable
seeds, 6-7 million flowers of different varieties, and 500-600 tons of
clean vegetables and fruits.
Normally, the Company’s F1
vegetable and fruit varieties are experimentally planted before
transferred to the farmers. The experimenting units of the Company are
also centres for training and transferring agricultural technical advances
and technologies to the farmers.
To further promote its
development, the Company extends cooperation with local scientific
institutions and scientists from the Netherlands, Australia, China, Taiwan
and the USA, to import the technology of producing crossbred seeds and
multiplying the original seeds, and to accept and apply the outcome from
research to production. This makes Hanoi Plant and Seed Company one of the
leading F1 seeds providers, helpingnbsp; to build a network of fruits and
vegetables for export growers in Hanoi and its suburban areas with a high
