Da Nang commends students with high academic results

Central Da Nang city on June 23 presented scholarships to over 200 students who are children of local workers and civil servants to encourage them to overcome disadvantages to obtain better academic results.

The city’s Confederation of Labour granted scholarships for 77 students with excellent achievements at municipal and national contests and 135 others who are in need but have good academic performance.

Vice Chairman of the confederation Tran Vu Duy Man praised the students’ achievements and called on them to continue making efforts in their study and self-improvement.

He added that to mark the Action Month for Children in June and 17 years of the Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001), trade unions at all levels in Da Nang have organised many practical activities, including visiting and presenting gifts to children with disadvantages and orphans, and granting scholarships for outstanding students.

This year’s Action Month for Children is themed “For children’s safe and healthy living”. It is set to promote the children’s rights to protection, respect and living in a safe and healthy environment in the digital era.
