HCM City, December 29 (VNA) – Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong held a reception for Laos’ newly- elected Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Somxay Sanam-Oune on December 28.
At the event, the municipal leader expressed his delight over the increasing development in Vietnam-Laos strategic relations and fruitful cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and localities in Laos.
He hoped that in his new position, Somxay Sanam-Oune will do his utmost to enhance collaboration between the two nations.
In response, Somxay Sanam-Oune thanked Ho Chi Minh City for supporting Laos and said he will make a concerted effort to consolidate the traditional friendship.
