Located in Phuoc Tinh Commune, Long Dien District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Phuoc Tinh Fishing Wharf is known as a hub with the largest number of fishing boats and the highest yield of seafood in the eastern region of the South.

Phuoc Tinh Commune has more than 1,200 large and small fishing boats, including about 1,100 offshore boats with a capacity of at least 90 CV. In Long Dien District, locals mainly earn their living from fishing so it is defined as a key sector. The total amount of aquatic products of the district reaches about 60,000 tonnes per year, ranking first in the province. Seafood products are sold to traders from Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces in the eastern region of the South.

Every day, fishing fleets of Phuoc Tinh and Long Hai Villages and offshore fishing boats of neighbouring provinces come back from the sea to anchor at 3 am, making the wharf busier. Thousands of tonnes of fresh seafoodare unloaded from the boats and women clean, classify and sellthe fish to merchants.

Together with fishing, other services such as producing ice, processing dried seafood, making sauces and supplying fuel have also strongly developed in the district, helping improve the locals’ living standards.
