50th Reunification Anniversary from above Independence Palace

On the morning of April 30th, Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held a national-level ceremony to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification – the most glorious milestone in the nation's history of building and defending the country. This momentous occasion filled the entire Vietnamese nation with immense pride after half a century of peace, independence, and unity, featuring a wide array of activities and a large-scale parade and march.

The 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification ceremony took place along nearly 2km of Le Duan Street in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, stretching from the main gate of the Independence Palace to the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens. This area served as the central location for the celebration, hosting the grandstand, main stage, opening ceremonies, and the commencement of the parade and march.

From the elevated vantage point of the Independence Palace, the commemorative ceremony appeared even more solemn and magnificent, offering a fuller and more comprehensive view of its scale, the main activities, and the enthusiastic atmosphere shared by the spectators lining both sides of the beautiful, flower-filled Le Duan Street.

Let's take a look back at the images of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, captured from the unique perspective of the Independence Palace rooftop by reporter Le Minh of Vietnam Pictorial, who had the honor of documenting this event./.
