The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, held on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defense Festival, is a key activity, creating a highlight with significant international significance.

Vietnam is proactively expanding defense diplomacy and collaboration which aims at bolstering friendship and mutual understanding, building confidence, and settling security and safety issues with global peers to prevent conflicts and wars in accordance with basic principles of international law, contributing to peace, prosperity, and cooperation for common development in the region and the world, he stated. 

The expo, he said, is the affirmation for Vietnam’s role and contributions to the international defense cooperation, noting that it stands as a symbol of trust, respect, and goodwill among nations striving for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous world. Additionally, the event also demonstrates the meaningful support and sentiment from international friends towards Vietnam as well as its people and army - a heroic military force of a heroic nation that consistently demonstrates sincerity, trustworthiness, and responsibility in international relations. 

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 displayed 68 types of equipment and weapons in the inventory of the Vietnam People's Army. The participation of 66 international delegations and over 240 defence industry enterprises from 49 countries reflects Vietnam's growing prestige in organizing international defence exhibitions. 

Products on display at the exhibition included air defense systems and equipment, naval systems and equipment and security systems with many diverse products. In addition, countries also brought for display ground force equipment with weapons, communication equipment, cyber warfare systems and training systems. 

The exhibition displayed innovative presentation technology by using 3D mapping technology, models of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, virtual reality (VR) technology simulating the course of the stages in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign with attacks by our army in the Muong Thanh Field, planes bombing Tan Son Nhat Airport, simulating tanks numbered 843 and 390 entering the Independence Palace in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. 

Within the framework of the exhibition, there were also thematic workshops: "High-tech weapons and equipment; unmanned vehicles - applications in current and future military activities" and cooperation in the defense industry between Vietnam and other countries.

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 was also an opportunity for Vietnam to welcome international friends, so within the framework of the program, there was also a space for sharing culture, art, cuisine, and introducing Vietnam's country and people./.
