H’Mong Ethnic Village – A Haven of Serenity

Perched 1,200 meters above sea level in the Hoang Lien range, Lao Chai 1 Village in Khun Ha commune, Lai Chau province, offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Home to 45 H’Mong households with more than 200 residents, the village is emerging as a destination for community-based tourism.

 

Surrounded by mountains and green forests, Lao Chai 1 captivates visitors with its scenic landscapes and distinctive highland setting. Traditional wooden houses, terraced fields and winding paths reflect the daily rhythm of life in the mountains.

The village’s appeal also lies in its rich H’Mong cultural heritage. Local residents preserve traditional customs, clothing, handicrafts and community activities, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the culture and way of life of the ethnic community.

 

Community-based tourism has created new opportunities for local people while encouraging them to preserve their cultural traditions and natural surroundings. Visitors can stay in local homes, enjoy traditional food, explore the surrounding landscapes and learn about the daily lives of H’Mong families.
