Hanoi Bursts into Color to Celebrate 72nd Anniversary of Liberation Day

Central streets of Hanoi have been vibrantly decorated with flags, flowers, banners, and large posters to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 – 2026).

Displays of panels recreating the moment the victorious troops marched in to take over the capital in 1954 not only evoke a glorious historical chapter but also foster a sense of pride, reminding today's generation to cherish the value of peace and independence.

To mark the occasion, the city is organizing a wide range of cultural and artistic programs; a highlight will be the fireworks displays at Hoan Kiem Lake and West Lake on the evening of October 10, 2026, creating a joyful and spirited atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
