Xuyen Moc: A Rising Star in Coastal Tourism
Xuyen Moc District (Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province) has a stunning 32km coastline, featuring picturesque fishing villages and seascapes on one side, and pristine, verdant primary forests and rolling sand dunes on the other. The district is also home to numerous upscale resorts with expansive sandy beaches. This captivating coastal landscape has made Xuyen Moc an increasingly popular destination for both domestic and international tourists.
Xuyen Moc is renowned for its beautiful beaches, including Ho Tram, Ho Coc, Ben Loi, and Suoi O. Coupled with the natural hot springs of Binh Chau and the Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu primary forest, the district offers a diverse tourism experience that caters to both beach lovers and nature enthusiasts.
A highlight of any visit to Xuyen Moc is the 32km coastal road that connects the communes of Phuoc Thuan, Bung Rieng, Bong Trang, and Binh Chau. This scenic route offers breathtaking views of the turquoise waters and golden sands of Ho Tram, Binh Chau, and Ho Coc beaches, as well as modern resorts with contemporary architecture.
In recent years, the once barren sand dunes of Xuyen Moc have been transformed into a lush green landscape with the development of The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip golf course, spanning 164ha. Ho Tram is now home to a number of 5-star resorts that offer a wide range of amenities and activities, making it an ideal destination for a luxurious beach getaway.
Public beaches in Xuyen Moc have undergone significant improvements, with the addition of clean public restrooms, parks, and well-lit pathways. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls along the beach, or indulge in the local seafood at the Ho Tram night market.
Xuyen Moc is home to the Binh Chau-Phuoc Buu primary forest, covering an area of 11,293ha. This pristine forest offers a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the region's natural beauty and enjoy various eco-tourism activities.
According to a report by Xuyen Moc District on the socio-economic performance in the first quarter of 2024, the district welcomed over 700,000 domestic and international tourists, representing a 9% increase compared to the same period last year. Tourism revenue reached nearly 800 billion dong (approximately 31.4 million US dollars), a 4% increase year-on-year. The total local budget revenue was nearly 200 billion dong (roughly 7.8 million US dollars), equivalent to 156% of the same period in 2023, while the total local budget expenditure exceeded 420 billion dong (roughly 16.5 million US dollars). The district has maintained a stable security and social order.
