Vietnam - India Cultural Connection Through Meditation and Yoga

As Chairman of the Art of Living Foundation, Gurudev sri sri Ravi shankar, a prominent humanitarian activist and global meditation teacher from India, recently visited Vietnam. during his stay in Vietnam, he partnered with the Vietnam Yoga Federation to organize “soulful symphony - An evening of Culture, Music, Wisdom, and Meditation". This event aimed to strengthen cultural ties between Vietnam and India through the universal practices of yoga and meditation.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is the founder of the Art of Living Foundation, established in 1981. The foundation offers educational programs through yoga techniques that have been proven effective worldwide. Art of Living is present in 180 countries, including Vietnam. It spreads the message of environmental protection and tree planting globally, has supported 40,000 villages by training farmers in organic agriculture, and conducts courses to enhance mental health and happiness.

He shares his wisdom in a way that makes lofty ideals applicable to our daily lives. Each year, he visits 70 cities in various countries to promote peace and inspire ethics, combat corruption, resolve conflicts, and care for everyone. In 1997, Gurudev co-founded the International Association for Human Values (IAHV) to work alongside the Art of Living Foundation. Together, they coordinate sustainable development projects and nurture human values.

 


Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar arrived in Vietnam to a warm welcome from locals and international friends. At the event “Soulful Symphony – An Evening of Culture, Music, Wisdom, and Meditation," he shared his wisdom with a backdrop of music. The event was graced by the presence of the Ambassador of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya.

In Vietnam, The Art of Living organizes courses called “Happiness Programs” in various provinces and cities. These programs offer a transformative experience that combines ancient wisdom with practical tools to help individuals rediscover joy, manage daily stress, and become a calmer, more confident version of themselves.

“Soulful Symphony - An Evening of Culture, Music, Wisdom, and Meditation," is a platform where individuals learn to cultivate stillness, manage emotions, practice breathing techniques, and meditate to balance their lives. This event helps participants enhance their wisdom in addressing everyday tasks and challenges.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has been honored with the 'Padma Vibhushan', the highest annual civilian award of India, as well as prestigious civilian awards from Colombia,
Mongolia and Paraguay.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, along with the Art of Living Foundation, has traveled across various regions in Vietnam, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, and further to Vung Tau and Dong Nai. Everywhere he goes, he and the Vietnamese people share beautiful moments through the “Soulful Symphony – An Evening of Culture, Music, Wisdom, and Meditation" programs. Gurudev inspires everyone with messages of gratitude, freedom, joy, happiness, and contentment. He said: "Everyone is seeking happiness, and what brings stability within us and makes our happiness strong, he calls wisdom - wisdom for life".


In Vietnam, Thai Ha Books has introduced a book titled "Gurudev: On the Plateau of the Peak" which is written about the life of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. This book serves as a repository to encapsulate and nurture everyone's experiences during the “Soulful Symphony - An Evening of Culture, Music, Wisdom, and Meditation" programs, which have been warmly welcomed in Vietnam.
