Ninh Binh Brings Archaeological Heritage to Life Through New Tourism Product
Located within the Trang An Landscape Complex in the northern province of Ninh Binh, Hang Boi (Boi Cave) preserves traces of prehistoric human habitation dating back more than 12,000 years.
Its opening to visitors at the Thung Ui Cultural Tourism Area in Tay Hoa Lu ward marks a new step in linking archaeological heritage with tourism development.
The site offers visitors an opportunity to explore the region’s distant past while experiencing the natural and cultural landscape of the ancient capital. Through the introduction of this new tourism product, Ninh Binh aims to diversify visitor experiences and raise public awareness of the historical value of its archaeological sites.
Beyond its appeal as a tourist destination, Hang Boi provides valuable evidence of early human life in the region, contributing to a deeper understanding of prehistoric communities and their relationship with the natural environment. Integrating archaeological discoveries into tourism also creates opportunities to preserve and promote local heritage in a more accessible way.
The initiative reflects Ninh Binh’s efforts to develop tourism products based on its distinctive cultural and historical resources. By connecting archaeological sites with the wider Trang An heritage landscape, the province seeks to strengthen its tourism appeal while ensuring that valuable traces of the past are preserved for future generations.
