Lam Dong Aims to Make Tourism a Key Economic Sector
The Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee on September 30, 2026 issued an action program to develop tourism into a key economic sector by 2030, setting ambitious targets for growth, visitor numbers and tourism’s contribution to the local economy.
Under the program, Lam Dong aims to rank among Vietnam’s leading localities in terms of tourism scale and growth rate by 2030. Tourism is expected to contribute about 12% directly to the province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP).
The province targets average annual tourism growth of 13–14%, with total tourist arrivals reaching around 40 million by 2030. Domestic visitors are expected to account for about 36.6 million, while international arrivals are projected to reach at least 3.4 million.
To achieve these goals, Lam Dong will focus on improving tourism infrastructure, diversifying tourism products and enhancing service quality. The province will also promote investment in high-quality resorts and attractions while developing cultural, ecological, community-based and experience-oriented tourism.
Greater use of digital technology, stronger tourism promotion and closer cooperation with businesses and neighboring localities will also be encouraged.
The action program is expected to provide a framework for Lam Dong to strengthen its tourism brand, attract more visitors and increase tourism’s contribution to sustainable local economic growth.
