Hanoi: A Convergence of Quintessence and Radiating Color
Launch of the New Tourism Portfolio: “Hanoi 2025 – A Convergence of Quintessence”
On the evening of October 18, in Phuc Tho Commune (Hanoi City), the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with the People’s Committees of Phuc Tho, Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Hong Van, Chuyen My, and O Dien communes, organized the “Launch Ceremony for New Hanoi Tourism Products 2025 – A Convergence of Quintessence”. This event is one of the key activities in the Capital’s 2025 investment, trade, and tourism promotion program. It further embodies and concretizes Resolution 82/NQ-CP, issued on May 18, 2023, by the Government, regarding the effective and sustainable development of tourism. The theme “A Convergence of Quintessence” carries a profound message: Hanoi is a place that connects the past, present, and future, where cultural heritage, traditional craft villages, and creative modern life intertwine. This theme reaffirms the unique identity of a thousand-year-old civilization city while highlighting its status as a UNESCO Creative City in the design field.
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Tran Trung Hieu, emphasized: “The launch ceremony is not merely an occasion to introduce new products resulting from the cooperation between the government, businesses, and the community. It is also an activity to honor the heritage, people, and culture of Hanoi, where its millennia-old quintessence shines through a spirit of innovation, creativity, and sustainability.
According to Tran Trung Hieu, 2025 is considered a pivotal year in the implementation process of Resolution 09-NQ/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on developing the cultural industry, with cultural tourism being identified as the leading sector. The Capital’s tourism industry has set forth five key strategic orientations. These include developing distinctive tourism products that are richly imbued with cultural identity; innovating the night tourism model by establishing new experiential spaces for art, cuisine, and light; accelerating digital transformation to build a smart tourism ecosystem; developing high-quality human resources, with a specific focus on skills in creativity, communication, guiding/interpretation, and community tourism management; and finally, expanding regional and international cooperation while strengthening linkages within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
Three New Tourism Products: Connecting Heritage, Craft Villages, and Nature

1. “The Southern Thang Long Heritage Route – The Quintessence of Vietnamese Craft Villages”
This journey connects the communes of Dai Thanh, Hong Van, Ngoc Hoi, and Chuyen My, inviting tourists to explore centuries-old craft villages where folk art, traditional techniques, and an inventive work ethic have been preserved for generations.

Each destination tells a story of cultural and creative convergence, forming a vibrant tapestry known as “The Quintessence of Vietnamese Craft Villages”.
2. “The Scholars' Path” – A Journey of Knowledge and Benevolence
In the ancient land of O Dien, visitors have the opportunity to explore the thousand-year-old tradition of studiousness among the people of Hanoi. The highlight of this journey is the Van Hien Temple, dedicated to the Great Tutor To Hien Thanh and other virtuous scholars, symbolizing the spirit of valuing education and respecting teachers.
“The Scholars' Path” is not merely a sightseeing route but a cultural and educational experience, helping visitors gain deeper insights into the elegant, benevolent, and intellectual character of the Hanoians -the foundation of a city always striving for knowledge and creativity.
3. “Tuong Phieu Floral Beauty” – A Symphony of Heritage and Nature
In the lush, green space of Phuc Tho Commune, alongside the gentle Tich River, the village of Tich Giang emerges like a peaceful countryside painting. Across an area of over 100ha, hundreds of species of flowers and ornamental plants, from ancient chrysanthemums and heirloom roses to precious orchids, proudly display their colors.
Standing out amidst this scenery is the Tuong Phieu Communal House, a special national relic bearing the architectural imprint of the Le Dynasty, embodying the historical and cultural values of this ancient land. “Tuong Phieu Floral Beauty” is not just a rural tourism product but a testament to the harmonious combination of heritage, nature, and people, offering visitors a relaxing, fresh, and authentic feeling about a contemporary Hanoi that still retains its age-old countryside soul.Strengthening linkage for Tourism Development 2025
Also within the framework of the launch program, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with the People’s Committee of Phuc Tho Commune, organized a Famtrip survey and experience for the “Tuong Phieu Floral Beauty” product and held a seminar titled “Strengthening Connectivity for Development – Diversifying Hanoi Tourism Products in 2025”.At the seminar, Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, affirmed: “Hanoi has established and developed a diverse tourism product system, ranging from cultural, craft village, and community tourism to agricultural and ecological tourism in localities such as Phuc Tho, Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Hong Van, Chuyen My, O Dien, Ba Vi, and Phu Dong. This forms the foundation for shaping the “government – business – community” cooperation model, aiming for a comprehensive product chain that connects the inner city with the suburbs and outlying areas.
Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, highly praised Hanoi's efforts in organizing this forum for collaborative tourism product development. He emphasized that Hanoi possesses sufficient potential to become a leading green, creative, and sustainable tourism hub with its abundant treasury of heritage, craft villages, cuisine, and urban landscapes.
Delegates at the seminar agreed that development linkage is the key for Hanoi tourism to achieve a breakthrough in the new period. The key discussion points included promoting public-private cooperation, enhancing the coordinating role of the government, and increasing the participation of businesses, cooperatives, and the community; developing specialized tourism products based on regional advantages, focusing on craft village, agricultural, ecological, heritage, and culinary tourism; advancing digital tourism, building a shared database and digitized products for more effective promotion; and greening the tourism value chain, linking economic development with environmental protection and improving community livelihoods.
According to Kieu Trong Sy, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phuc Tho Commune, the locality has identified tourism as one of four breakthroughs, particularly the development of spiritual tourism in the Tich Giang area, which converges unique natural landscapes and cultural spaces. He stated: “Hanoi needs to focus further on building and spreading green tourism products that are tied to local identity; this is the path to sustainability”.
Representing the Institute for Tourism Economic Development, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan proposed a solution for “greening the tourism product value chain and risk management,” emphasizing Phuc Tho's role as a typical destination for the eco-tourism and community tourism trend.
Meanwhile, Dr. Nguyen Thu Hanh (Chairwoman of the Vietnam Sustainable Tourism Development Science Association) pointed out that “the biggest current bottleneck is the lack of tight linkage between the people, businesses, and government,” and called on the Hanoi Department of Tourism to act as the “maestro” in coordinating all parties.
Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, announced that based on the opinions presented at the seminar, the department will compile and research the suggestions, then advise the Hanoi People’s Committee to issue support mechanisms to encourage investment in developing distinctive local tourism products. They will also organize promotional activities, build the Hanoi tourism brand linked to the cultural industry, and develop tourism toward a green and sustainable direction. Furthermore, the department will support and urge the Vietnam Green Tourism Sub-Association, the Hanoi Tourism Association, the Vietnam Sustainable Tourism Development Science Association, and related units to implement and concretize the signed cooperation agreements.
The seminar concluded with representatives from the communes of Phuc Tho, Dai Thanh, Ngoc Hoi, Hong Van, Chuyen My, and O Dien, along with the Hanoi Tourism Association, the Vietnam Sustainable Tourism Development Science Association, and the Vietnam Green Tourism Sub-Association, signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on cooperation for the development of tourism products and services. This act concretizes the “three-party” cooperation model - comprising the government, businesses, and the community - in the development of the Capital's tourism.
Hanoi – A Destination of Heritage, Creativity, and a Green Future
In recent years, Hanoi’s tourism sector has recorded impressive recovery steps. In 2024, the Capital welcomed over 27.8 million visitors, including more than 6.3 million international arrivals; total revenue reached over 110 trillion dong, an 18.3% increase compared to the previous year. In the first nine months of 2025, Hanoi continues to experience strong growth, affirming its role as the tourism spearhead for the Northern region and the entire country.
The “Tuong Phieu Floral Beauty” tourism product is a rural destination rich in identity, where visitors can experience the rustic, fresh, and sustainable beauty of a modern Hanoi that still retains its age-old countryside soul. The introduction of new tourism products like “The Southern Thang Long Heritage Route – The Quintessence of Vietnamese Craft Villages,” “The Scholars' Path,” and “Tuong Phieu Floral Beauty” is a vivid testament to the spirit of innovation and creativity in Hanoi tourism. This is a city that is simultaneously ancient and modern; it preserves its age-old soul while reaching toward a green and sustainable future.

With a development strategy closely linking heritage, creativity, and community, Hanoi is gradually building its image as a “Green - Civilized - Cultured – Creative City”. It is a place where every visitor can find unique experiences, profound emotions, and unforgettable impressions of a millennial Capital that is dynamically reaching out and integrating with the world.
